When you add a price book in salesforce.com, as a administrator, you will find that right off the bat you have no troubles seeing and using this newly created price book but alas your users will find that they cannot. This is because you have to share the price book out to a role, group, user, etc. in order to give those users access. It is not in the Profile where you would think or anywhere else in the admin UI. You have to share it out from the Price Book using the”Share” button. So click the Products Tab and scroll all the way down to the bottom right of the page and click “Manage Price Books” under the “Maintenance” section. If you do not see this section, you do not have the rights to manage price books.
Click the “Share” button and add the Role or Group that need access. Remember to set the type from the default of “View” to “Use”.
